FAQ's
It is important to ask questions before you have your vehicle repaired. Below are a few frequently asked questions that we get. If you have a question that is not listed here please email us at john@bauer-auto.com or call at (330) 204-4666.
1. What is PDR
PDR or Paintless Dent Repair is a method used to fix a ding or dent on a vehicle where we "push" at the dent from behind helping to
reshape the metal eliminating the defect without the need for painting.
2. Do you work with Insurance Companies?
Yes, we do work with insurance companies if your repair is more than your deductible. While a lot of our repairs do cost less than many deductibles, when damage exceeds a deductible, we do work with insurance companies to make the necessary repairs.
3. Will this show up on my vehicle history report such as Carfax®?
We do not report repairs to third parties such as Carfax®. Because, we use a process that reshapes the metal back to its original shape and does not require any painting, there is not any reason for reporting to firms like this.
4. Will my paint be damaged?
No. The factory paints today are very flexible and will not damage during the PDR processes. This is why we are able to repair vehicles while preserving a vehicles factory paint.
5. Will my dent come back?
No. Once a dent has been removed using PDR it does not come back.
6. Are PDR repairs less expensive than conventional repairs?
Typically, PDR does cost less than conventional repairs. However, on occasion using the paintless dent repair process does exceed the cost of some conventional repairs. In cases like that, we simply determine the vest value for the vehicle and the vehicle owner. The advantage to PDR is that fillers are not used in the process and the original paint is preserved. Therefore, a vehicle that has been repaired using PDR will be closer to pre damage condition than any other type of repair, even closer than replacement.
7. Can every dent be repaired.
Not every dent can be repaired. This is why it is best to call and determine if your damage is a good candidate for PDR and if it is, then determine the cost associated with your particular damage.
